We’re screening CIRCLES: A Restorative Justice Project on Sunday, Sept. 27 from 6–8:30 PM at BLU Art & Wellness Gallery in downtown Long Beach.
Conscious Cinema is more than a movie night. Each gathering creates space to watch, reflect, talk, and connect the stories we see on screen to the issues affecting our own communities.
You’re invited to join us for the next Conscious Cinema community film experience!
On Sunday, September 27 from 6–8:30 PM, we’ll gather at BLU Art & Wellness Gallery in downtown Long Beach for a screening of CIRCLES: A Restorative Justice Project, directed by Cassidy Friedman.
CIRCLES follows Eric Butler, a former football star and Hurricane Katrina refugee who challenges zero-tolerance school discipline by introducing restorative justice practices at a West Oakland high school. As he works to keep Black and Latino students connected to school, the film explores healing, accountability, relationships, education, and what it really takes to build alternatives to punishment.
