Support Young People in Long Beach This Juneteenth
House of Haven has been showing up for young people in Long Beach who are navigating housing instability, hardship, and uncertainty. Now our community has a chance to show up for them.
During this year’s Juneteenth at King Park celebration, Black Lives Matter Grassroots Long Beach and the Black Neighborhood Tenant Council will be hosting a community donation drive to support youth served by House of Haven.
We’re asking community members to bring a few simple but meaningful items that can make a real difference for young people trying to get through difficult moments with dignity and support.
Most Needed Items
New men’s underwear / boxer briefs
Food gift cards in $10–$15 increments
Suggested gift cards include:
Fast food restaurants
Jamba Juice
Trader Joe’s
Grocery stores
Other quick meal options
For many young people experiencing housing instability, access to basic essentials and food can be inconsistent. Small acts of care from the community can help meet immediate needs while also reminding young people that they are not alone.

Juneteenth is about freedom, dignity, resilience, and collective care. Supporting vulnerable young people in our city is one way we can put those values into action.
Whether you bring one item or several, every contribution helps.
We hope you’ll stop by, spread the word, and help us support Long Beach youth with love and community care.
