Join our monthly Black Neighborhood Tenant Council meeting as we welcome in special guests to talk with us about how gentrification, development, and displacement are reshaping Black neighborhoods in Long Beach.
We will hear from a local historian about preserving Black neighborhood history, and another guest from the Long Beach Community Land Trust who will share about community-controlled land and permanently affordable housing in our city.
We’ll uncover warning signs residents are seeing in their buildings and neighborhoods, connect those changes to local development and policy decisions, and collect ideas for a possible anti-displacement strategy the BNTC could prioritize in the future.

Fruitful Futures Tree Giveaway Update
Our Black Neighborhood Tenant Council has a couple follow up questions about our Fruitful Futures tree giveaway last month, in partnership with Music Changing Lives.
First, we hope you’re enjoying the start of your fruit tree journey! If you received a fruit tree, please email Brandie and let her know:
1) Which tree you took home (if you haven't already via email), as there were a few fruit tree mixups; and
2) Text or email to Brandie 📸 a photo of your tree in its new home. We'd love to celebrate everyone's progress and follow your tree's journey!
If you completed the survey but didn't receive a tree, please let Brandie know, so that she can keep an accurate waiting list for the next distribution.
This is just the beginning. As more Fruitful Futures opportunities, tree giveaways, workshops, and resources become available, you'll be the first group we reach out to.
